Basic Dynamic Website
The RAW Designers team will take your information or any material you wish to have published to your website and create your presence on the web. This might include but is not limited to such things as a logo, articles, photos, and contact information. All RAW Design sites are designed with search engine optimization. We design your site so you can keep it updated. We believe you shouldn’t have to pay us to change something that might change in the future. This includes:
- Four basic web pages (i.e. Home Page, About Us, Products, Contact Us). Basic pages mean that the interactivity will be limited. The site will be designed so you can keep it updated with almost no knowledge of computer programming. This is a good site for those just getting started on the web. Your site will be built to expand as your business grows and you can always purchase additional features as your needs change.
- Custom Theme. Your site will be uniquely styled to your satisfaction.
- 1 year Domain Name Registration (Domain name subject to availability).
- For an additional $6.00 per month RAW Designers will also host your site. If you want to choose your own host you need to be aware of the following:
RAW Designers will set up your site on a host of your choosing. If you choose this option you must accept the responsibility of your hosts capabilities. There are certain qualifications that the hosts of our websites MUST meet. They must provide the following:
Web server
- RAW Designer sites will work on Apache 1.3 or Apache 2.x hosted on UNIX/Linux, OS X, or Windows. The majority of our site development and deployment is done on Apache so there is more experience and testing performed.
- While RAW Designer sites will work on MS IIS we do not support the installation on IIS servers.
PHP
Recommended: PHP 5.2 or higher
Required: PHP version 4.3.5 or higher
- PHP 5.2 or higher will be a requirement for future development. If your host is using less than PHP 4.3.5, you should probably consider switching hosting providers.
- PHP memory of 16 MB or higher . This is fine for a basic site but for a more complex site your host should be able to increase the limit.
- The PHP extension for connecting to your chosen database must be installed and enabled. RAW Designers supported database connectors are: mysql (the original MySQL extension), mysqli (an improved connector for newer MySQL installations), and pgsql (for PostgreSQL).
- An image library for PHP such as the GD library is needed for image manipulation (resizing user pictures, image and imagecache modules). GD is included with PHP 4.3 and higher and enabled by default. ImageMagick is also supported for basic image manipulations in Drupal core but there is much less support from contribute modules.
- PHP needs the following directives for our sites to work (only directives that differ from the default
- register_globals: off; this is the default value, but some hosts have it enabled
- session.save_handler: user
- error_reporting set to E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE. Work is ongoing to change this to E_ALL for Drupal 6.
- safe_mode: off. Safe mode may interfere with file and image uploads.
- In addition, we recommend the following setting: session.cache_limiter: nocache
