As others have found, this cable does not fit correctly

Judging from the diametrically opposed reviews of this cable, Mediabridge either ships cables from different manufacturers, or their quality control is very bad. Like others, the cable I received does not fit correctly and falls out of the jacks. Yes, I removed the plastic caps--the caps are not the issue.
I tried connecting the cable to a Sony CD player, a Microsoft Xbox 360, a Behringer USB audio interface, and a no-name optical switch box. The cable does not stay connected to any of them.
I have optical cables on hand from three other manufacturers. A visual comparison of the Mediabridge cable to the other cables shows that the rectangular plastic portion of the connector is shorter than on the other cables, and the central metal cylinder is longer. I believe that this is the reason the cable falls out of the socket: the cylinder prevents the connector from seating deeply enough in the socket and the small ridges on the connector cannot engage with the depressions inside the socket. Hence nothing holds the cable in place.
It's too bad since the cable is very reasonably priced, but unfortunately it's nearly useless. I will not be buying any more optical cables from Mediabridge.

This optical cable falls out of both ends of my connection - new TV and new receiver. Another brand of cable (more expensive) fits tightly and locks in place. Do not buy this one. Keep shopping.
Effective Cable, hard to go wrong with Toslink

Well, it's a toslink cable, so if it works (which it did) then you'll have the same top quality sound out of ANY cable. This is just light, so having shielding or solid gold connectors means nothing. The one thing that does matter is if the clip stays in the port. The clip holds very well in both my Cable Box and my reciever so I'm very satisfied.
The only thing I should mention that's not perfect, is that I ordered a gray cable and they sent me a REALLY bright blue one. The packaging says it's gray in two places so I'm sure it was just human error. It didn't bother me though since my cables are all hidden.
Mediabridge can be trusted!!! Perfect fit!

After reading many many reviews on TOSLINK cables for sale on amazon I decided to purchase this one from Mediabridge. All I can say is the cables I received from them are all top quality (TOSLINK and digital coaxial). I opened the box, removed the plastic dust covers, and immediately connected my xbox to my receiver. The best part was with AmazonPrime I was able to get the cables in only one day for free. Anyways the cable is a perfect snug fit with no play at all and a clear digital signal. Save your money and buy from Mediabridge, after all digital is digital no need to overpay for the some result.
Purchase with confidence that you will receive a top quality perfect fitting cable.
what a waste of time and money

hooked up to my receiver but not my tv.just fit to loose kept falling out.i have a sansung lcd c630.i dont understand why amazon lets this company sell this prouduct on there website.had to send it back.i lost my trust in mediabridge.
